     Alyssa Barna is Ph.D. student in music theory at the Eastman School of Music. Her research explores aspects of form in American popular music, specifically folk, bluegrass, and rock genres, post-tonal analysis, and exploring new audiences through engagement of public music theory. She has presented her research at several conferences in Indiana, Ohio, and the annual conference of the Music Theory Society of New York State. Committed to pedagogy, Alyssa has enjoyed teaching a variety of written theory and aural skills courses of all levels. She completed a MM in music theory at Indiana University, and a BM in music theory, music performance, and music education at Ithaca College.
