Laura Emmery is Assistant Professor of Music Theory at Emory University. Her research focuses on Elliott Carter’s string quartets and incorporates sketch study in tracking the composer’s evolution and process. Laura has presented her research at national and international conferences, and her works has been published in Tempo, Twentieth Century Music, Sonus, The Musical Quarterly, and Mitteilungen der Paul Sacher. Prior to Emory, Laura taught at Arizona State University and University of California, Santa Barbara, where she received her Ph.D. in Music Theory.
