     Jon-Tomas Godin is Assistant Professor of Music Theory at Brandon University. He recently completed a dissertation on the piano sonata in the 19th century at the Université de Montréal under the supervision of François de Médicis and Marie-Hélène Benoit-Otis. His research focuses primarily on musical form, harmony and the aesthetics of nineteenth century music, and he has recently launched a new project on nationalism and identity in the music of César Franck. He has published two essays and several book reviews, and presented papers in Canada, the US, the UK and Europe.
