Christopher Hasty is the Walter W. Naumburg Professor of Music at Harvard University where he teaches primarily music theory and analysis. His interests centre on questions of rhythm and temporality in various styles of music. His approach to these questions has been informed especially by philosophical work of Alfred North Whitehead, Giles Deleuze, and Eugene Gendlin.
