Judith Petty is a Lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. As the School’s Aural Skills Coordinator, she supervises the musicianship curriculum for undergraduates and graduate conductors. Originally a flutist, with studies in historical performance practice and a Master of Music degree in Flute from the New England Conservatory, her attendance at new music festivals in Darmstadt, Donaueschingen and Paris led to graduate work in music theory at the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Philosophy degree in Music Theory from Yale University.
