Sommaire

     Following studies as a pianist and singer, he holds a degree in "Liberal Arts - Music and Performing Arts" from the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. He is currently completing a postgraduate degree at the University of Nottingham, where he is carrying out research on pedagogical traditions and compositional practice in late Nineteenth century Italian opera which will deepen comprehension of musical composition processes regarding opera composers such as Alfredo Catalani, Umberto Giordano and Francesco Cilea. This research investigates the different ways the music was taught to professional apprentices in Italy with a scrutiny of the relevant primary sources and significant compositional practice. He has also researched interests in Italian opera composers such as Donizetti, Bellini and Verdi. As a musicologist his studies include Opera Analysis, Music Theory, and the History of Compositional Traditions of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century.
