Sommaire

Martin Rohrmeier received his MPhil and PhD in music cognition from the University of Cambridge, UK, under the supervision of Ian Cross. He is interested in the cognition of music, implicit learning, computational modelling and cognitive links between music and language. He explores the ways in which people acquire and apply knowledge of music as well as language. In this context, he is applying and combining theoretical tools drawn from music theory, linguistics and formal languages, as well as methods from experimental psychology, cognitive modelling, machine learning, and cognitive neuroscience. Since September 2014, he holds the Chair of Systematic Musicology with a focus on Music Cognition at the Institute of Art and Music, Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.
