     Simonetta Sargenti was born in Milan. She completed a M.A. Degree in Violin , in Composition and in Electroacoustic Music at the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan, and holds a M.A.Degree in Philosophy and Musicology at the Università Statale di Milano. As a professional performer, her interests mainly lie in the application of technology to the musical domain, with a special focus on the 20th-century repertoire. Her compositions involve several instrumentations, including live electronics and magnetic tape. She is active as a musicologist and researcher in electroacoustic music and music theory and analysis. She teaches History of Music and Music Analysis at the Conservatory of Novara and Analysis of Electroacoustic Music at the Conservatory of Pesaro.
