     Noel Torres-Rivera holds a bachelor degree in Violin Performance from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and a Master degree in Music Theory from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He is currently a doctoral student in Music Theory at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. His research interests are music and meaning, semiotics, topic theory, and Puerto Rican and Latin American twentieth-century music. Noel currently teaches music theory at City College of New York and serves as the program annotator for the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra and the Casals Festival.
