     ZHENG Yan is an associate professor at East China Normal University where she teaches primarily music theory and analysis. Her current research interests focus on the co-relations between music analysis and philosophy, Chinese contemporary music. She published two books after a twelve-year research on western topics that are The Herald of Impressionist Music: A Study on the Late Piano Works of Franz Liszt (2012) and Study on Serial Music from Perspective of Structuralism: Selected works from Milton Babbitt and Luigi Dallapiccola (2015). Yan Zheng was named a Guest Artist by Harvard University Pforzheimer House in 2013 and a Guest Scholar & Lecturer by the Department of Music Theory and Analysis at The Juilliard School in 2016.
